PATRIOTS PARTY NATIONAL PLATFORM
Our platform is still growing as our members vote and approve new reforms. The state platforms may differ to include reforms more specific to that state as agreed upon by the members of their state.
RESTORING OUR 1ST AMENDMENT
We will restore our 1st amendment as it is written and reasonably understood. We do understand that the 1st amendment should be updated to provide additional clarity as to the rights of an American citizen for future generations and to secure these rights from being altered by politically appointed judges.
We support the freedom of religion and the right of every American to practice the religion of their choosing. We believe this to mean that while the state may not endorse, support nor oppose any faith. We believe that the state may use generic terms such as mention of God or conduct moments of silence to allow for personal prayer. We further believe the state may not pass any law supporting nor opposing a particular faith.
We support the freedom of speech in all forms with some limits. Freedom of speech in no way gives any person the right to advocate for harm towards person nor property of another. Freedom of speech in no way grants any American citizen the right to desecrate any religious symbols nor state symbols.
We support the right of citizens to peacefully assemble and to petition the state for a redress of grievances. This does not give any person nor group the right to commit nor advocate for harm to person nor property. The right to peacefully assemble does not grant a person nor group the right to block public paths nor to impair a business’s ability to engage in free commerce. Petitioning government does not grant any person nor group the right to confront any member of the state government outside of their office. Persons wishing to petition the government must do so in an orderly fashion. If those grievances are not addressed in a manner that is desired by the citizen then they are free to run for office, but no one has the right to harass any one due to a grievance.
ROLE OF GOVERNMENT
We believe far reaching powers are granted to our federal government via the general welfare clause of our Constitution. Our founders knew a strong central government was essential to our unified sovereignty. It is for that reason we support a strong national government.
SEPARATION OF POWERS
We believe that while the President is the Commander in Chief of our armed forces, he must seek permission from Congress to wage war.
We support the idea that the runner up for President of the United States should be the Vice President of the United States no more should the Vice President be chosen by a nominee this vital position should be chosen by the people.
We support that the federal government assumes the debts of the states.
We believe that while tariffs protect American manufacturing they must not be used as a mechanism to wage economic warfare with otherwise friendly trade partners. Punitive tariffs must only be used against nations that exhibit hostility towards American interests when it may not be strategically or economically viable.
LAW AND ORDER
We believe that law and order is the bedrock of our civilization. Federal law trumps state law, state law trumps county law, and county law trumps city laws. This is the order our founders set for our nation to make us a strong United States of America. We must restore this basic legal structure.
We support orderly legal immigration into our great nation. We believe that becoming an American citizen is privilege not a right and that all who enter our country illegally be deported immediately no exceptions. If they attempt to return, they must be held in a work camp for a period of no more than 5 years after which time they will be returned to their country of origin and permanently banned from being able to apply for citizenship. Minors being trafficked across illegally shall be immediately returned to their country of origin. We can no longer afford to take in those who willfully ignore our laws, nor shall we continue to be a daycare for children.
We also support an end to refugee acceptance programs.
We believe that war must be a last resort when negotiations break down.
We must remain neutral in conflicts that do not directly involve our nation.
